Bio

Nikolai was once a soldier, forged in a military unit across the lands known as Voyla's Vow, bound by orders and unquestioning loyalty. They were deployed where hope was wavering, trained to stand when others broke. That soon ended in fire and brimstone when one of Viceroy's generals turned the battle into a massacre. When the smoke cleared, only a few remained, forced to retreat.

Marked as a failure and a liability, Nikolai deserted and disappeared, becoming a fugitive and a wanderer. He carried on what remained of his former allies' flag over the battlefield before he fled, a silent promise that their end would not be forgotten. The world knew him as a rumor, a former soldier with no home and no chain of command. To himself, he was the last bearer of the Vow.

These insignias of his fallen family clung to him like a ghost, no matter how hard he tried to forget. His strikes landed with greater force, his techniques and words cut deeper, as well as enemy blows began to lose their bite. Even his wounds knit faster, as if his comrades still watched his back, attempting to keep him held together. Each power was a fragment of the unit that refused to die.

Now, with the nickname, Vanguard, he walks the road between war and exile, a soldier without a war. He intervenes where conflict threatens to devour the helpless. He seeks Viceroy's generals, not for glory, but for closure. Until the flags fall from his hand, Yoyla's Vow marches on
