Bio
Of the six boroughs of Duskveil Falls, the history of Butcher Boroughs cuts the deepest for working-class Janes and Joes. Situated along half of the city's waterfront district, it's blue collars as far as the eye can see in densely packed neighborhoods.
In 1929, Prohibition has driven most of the city's vices underground for those seeking a stiff drink or more. While the affluent citizens of Duskveil's upper crust scarcely feel the bite of federal enforcement, those without the influence and scrap must fend for themselves.
Beneath Butcher Borough's bodegas, tenements, warehouses and workshops, the Margrave Family's protection racket keeps a firm hand on the libations and liberties, but speakeasies and gambling dens bring much-needed relief for the downtrodden after a hard day's work.
All is not so well for the city's stability, however, as a new criminal syndicate has begun to surface from the back alleys to Butcher Boulevard proper and beyond.
Those with a finger on the pulse of a most unusual grapevine hear mutterings of alleged occultist influences as the 'Umbral Estate' has put the Margaves and their man Harley Brown on the back foot.
While the D.F.P.D. and feds seem disinclined to ruffle feathers in the brewing feud, vigilante justice has surfaces to make an impact. As for how lasting it may be? Only the history books will tell.
