A joint-venture of the Miyamoto & Strauss Enterprises oceanic research, development and drilling divisions in cooperation with the Centre for Deep Sea Research and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The DS12 Triton Facility is one of the largest sustained deep-sea oceanic operations in the world.

Operating at depths greater than 17,000 ft. / 5,181 meters, the scope involved at DS12 Triton was previously unheard of - exceeding even that of Station M off the coast of California. More significantly, the facility is the first of its kind to offer sustainable manned research despite the staggering atmospheric pressure and other obstacles once considered insurmountable.

Thanks to the surfacing of meta-human individuals possessing extraordinary capabilities, the DS12 Triton was able to be made a reality - per Anselm Strauss of Strauss Enterprises, it is quote "Pretty much magic backed by some very magical science." As far as the public is concerned, this is as much explanation as has been provided in any great detail.

However, the DS12 Triton facility was also made possible by the discovery of deep-sea phenomena near Brownson Deep, also known as Milwaukee Deep previously. In order to better understand the phenomena, excavations had been underway for nearly a year after more permanent modules had been established, unearthing remarkable findings of highly advanced technologies -- dubbed 'deeptech' more colloquially. During the course of recent excavating, a breach occurred which exposed a previously undocumented recess alongside the trench - a veritable abyss whose depth was un-navigable.

It was from that abyss that new and terrifying oceanic life began to emerge, along with signs of other activity stirring. Facing external threats damaging the structures of the DS12 Triton facility, an emergency call has been made requesting the deployment of meta-level individuals to seek out whatever ulterior influence has endangered the personnel and operations therein.

Worryingly, in conjunction with these developments, the rapid onset of Hurricane Greta alongside other treacherous weather phenomena have further complicated the situation. It is speculated that even this may have been the result of deliberate interference - but as of yet this has not been confirmed.

Nevertheless, a swift response is crucial: a team of individuals, aided and supported by the crew of the Deep-sea support vessel Benthic Explorer, must descend along the surface umbilicus to reach DS12 Triton to address the crisis. They are advised that the DSS Reckoning nuclear submarine is on standby to safeguard the vicinity - but contact has been lost following reports of a substantial unidentified sonar signature.

Following an extensive investigation into the operations of Miyamoto & Strauss Enterprises, field operatives have confirmed the utilization of a still unidentified anomalous entity in order to counteract deep-sea pressure in a large area around the facility.

Because of this, it is believed that meta-level individuals and appropriately equipped personnel may be able to engage in direct underwater hostile confrontations and combat without being crushed, despite the absence of perceived-necessary equipment.
